Emma Douglas joined BT Pension Scheme in 2021 as a Senior Stewardship Analyst and is responsible for supporting the Scheme’s stewardship activities. She works across a wide range of areas, including collaborating closely with the Scheme’s fund managers to enhance their stewardship practices, external reporting and on advancing ESG integration and internal investment data systems. Emma also co-chairs the Asset Owner Diversity Charter, an initiative to build an investment industry which embodies a more balanced representation of diverse societies.
Prior to BTPS she worked at investment consultant LCP, where she was a Responsible Investment Consultant and helped clients understand how they can integrate ESG factors and stewardship considerations into their investment decision making, and engaged with investment managers on responsible investment topics such as net zero to understand their different approaches. She sat on the stewardship workstream of the Investment Consultants Sustainability Working Group (ICSWG), sharing industry best practice and encouraging improvement. Emma also co-led the Diversity Project’s Early Careers workstream for the past 2+ years, setting up and implementing a work experience and mentoring programme for university students from less advantaged backgrounds to encourage them into the investment industry. Emma has a 1st class Mathematics with French BSc from Exeter University and is a CFA charter holder.
